Time Revolution

The 80/20 Principle and Time Revolution

Most of what we do is of low value.

Some small fragments of our time are much more valuable than all the rest.

If we can do anything about this, we should do something radical.

If we make good use of only 20 percent of our time, there is no shortage of it!

The point is not to manage your time better!

You need to transform how you spend your time and you probably need to change the way you think about time itself. Time management is about the selling of “time managers.” Time management aims to fit a quart into a pint jar, it is about speeding up.

When In Doubt, Side With Skill

March 22nd, 2008 by admin

We humans are creatures of habit. That is why 90% of all businesses are not growing or improving. The obvious conclusion is that if we get out of our habits we also get out of the 90% and get into the 10%. Skill is one of the ways we can accomplish this.

I am prejudiced, biased and narrow-minded when it comes to skill. Nothing can replace it. Drive, ambition, experience, motivation, and all the other positive attributes cannot replace skill. These positive human traits can help reduce the effects of no skills but they cannot replace skill.

I meet with companies every day that do not make there trash disposal a priority until it becomes a problem. Even then the priority is to get rid of the waste. Not, what would be the most economical and environmentally friendly way to do it.

How To Stay Focused At Work

January 12th, 2008 by admin

It could be a beautiful, sunny day outside of your office window or the nearby construction work is diverting your attention – sometimes it is quite difficult to stay focused. In the work place, there are plenty of distractions that decrease productivity, encourage procrastination, and wreak havoc on the overall day. Staying focused while at work is also pretty hard when you’re not happy with the tasks you need to accomplish. Overall, it is important for an employee to block out the things that tempt their curiosity and concentration so they may achieve success and perform to the best of their ability.
